How the Nigeria desk works
A rate decision in Abuja. A startup exit in Lagos. A story the world picked up from Kano. This desk is Nigeria across every beat: business, policy, technology, culture. Each story judged and receipted.
Poblysh desks are machine-assisted: an editorial charter, a versioned judge, and a signed receipt on every placement. A human can override any row — and when one is wrong, the correction is public.
The charter
This desk carries
- Nigerian business, policy and public-life events with weight
- Nigerian companies and people acting abroad
- Decisions in Abuja and the states that move markets or lives
It skips
- Wire reprints with no Nigeria-specific angle
- Celebrity and lifestyle coverage with no consequence
- Sponsored content and paid announcements presented as editorial
The receipt on every row
Each placement is stored with a signed receipt: the desk slug, the item key, the model version, the confidence and the source link hashed into one value. The badge under a wire row names the model and score that placed it; change any of the fields and the hash stops matching — that is the audit.
Right of reply and corrections
When a placement is wrong — or the outlet's report was — the correction is public. A flagged row is resolved within one business day; the resolved note stays on the record.
Corrections and right-of-reply requests go to media@poblysh.com.
